About Our Haathi Blends

We source this green tea from an organic supplier. The green tea in this blend comes from their Certified Elephant Friendly™ tea estate, Putharjhora, located in the Dooars region (in the low foothills of the Darjeeling Himalayan region), West Bengal, India. South of the Himalayan peaks and north of the Brahmaputra River basin, the Dooars region is known for its tropical evergreen forests and diversity of wildlife. The Laite and Runjhun rivers run through the tea garden and are regularly visited by elephant herds, as well as wild boar, peacocks, snakes, monkeys, and many bird species. Putharjhora holds the following certifications: Elephant Friendly™, Fair Trade, USDA Organic, Demeter Biodynamic, and is a member of the Ethical Tea Partnership. Haathi is the Hindi word for "elephant". 

Ingredients: Organic green tea, organic lemongrass, organic ginger, organic cinnamon, organic licorice root, natural flavor, organic safflower, and organic calendula flowers.

To Brew: Pour 8 oz of just short of boiling water (200°F preferred) over 2 tsp. of tea. Steep 2-3  minutes. Do not oversteep, or it will become bitter.
