French Green Clay consists primarily of montmorillonite and is highly effective at drawing out oils and toxins from the skin. French Green Clay is rich in important minerals and phyto-nutrients and is the most commonly used therapeutic clay. Use it for facials and body wraps. French Green Clay can also be used in soaps (about 1 tablespoon per pound of soap) and body/foot powders. French Green Clay contains an abundance of valuable elements, including montmorillonite, several important mineral oxides, magnesium, calcium, potassium, dolomite, silica, manganese, phosphorus, silicon, copper, and selenium.

Iron oxides and decomposed plant matter give the clay its green color. French Green Clay is mined from very deep deposits that can be up to two thousand feet below the earth's surface. Once the clay is mined, it is left out in the sun to remove excess moisture, making it easier to work with. After the clay has dehydrated, it is ground very finely with a large Micro Pulverizer. It is then laid out in the sun one more time to dry any possible residual moisture.
